Sara McQuesten (Drawing)

Sarah is a student at RIC who is studying Art Education. Her favorite type of art to create are paintings and drawings. She also enjoys learning about art history and loves visiting museums to learn more. Some of her favorite things are nature, hiking, and animals, especially her cat named Murphy.

Class Description

This drawing class will center around the use of shapes and values to create realistic charcoal drawings. Charcoal can be messy (so don't wear your favorite shirt!) but is generally better for creating black and white value changes. In this class, we will begin with lots of practice exercises to learn how to use the material and train our eyes. For each project we will discuss each other's work in a thoughtful way. In the end, we will look at still-life setups using fun objects found at Curtain Call to make some amazing artworks!
